De Britto High School in Yogyakarta has a long rich tradition of nurturing young men into exceptional individuals, always eager to embrace fresh knowledge and experiences. Located at Laksda Adisucipto 161 in Yogyakarta, the school was founded on August 19, 1948, and has consistently educated servant leaders for the community. As a part of the global network of Jesuit Schools, De Britto High School is run by priests from The Society of Jesus, commonly known as the Jesuits. The school’s name pays tribute to a Portuguese Jesuit missionary who was martyred in Madurai, India, in 1693. De Britto is renowned among the youth for its students’ distinctive look: they don’t adhere to a uniform, often sport long hair, and embrace an eccentric style. This unique identity is a hallmark of this all-boys school.

Vision and Mission

To be a Jesuit private education with exceptional characteristics in educating students to become capable, righteous, and compassionate servant leaders.

Core Values

De Britto College lives the spirit of Christian life based on the law of love. Love as the law of life is always found in God, the One True God, because God is love by nature. God wants His love to be revealed to humanity and the rest of creation in His divine revelation: “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us”, the Son of Man, Jesus Christ the Messiah. Jesus became the image and likeness of God, the Father creator of heaven, earth and its contents; the Word savior of all creation; and the Holy Spirit preserver of life, for the sake of His love and for everyone who loves His truth. In His life, Jesus has demonstrated God’s love in the values of kindness, compassion and faithfulness that are evident in His will, words and actions. It is the truth of God and his love made real in the events of Jesus, the reality of his life, suffering and death, as well as his glorious and eternal resurrection and life that is the foundation of the Christian spirit.
