Venue: UIN Sunan Kalijaga Campus Mosque
Participants: Muslim students, the Principal, Campus Ministry team, accompanying teachers and staff
Mr. Catur Supatmono, M.Pd, the Principal of Kolese De Britto High School, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to UIN Sunan Kalijaga for providing a space for Muslim students and staff to deepen their faith during the iftar gathering. He encouraged all attendees to break down barriers that hinder human connection. Mr. Catur was inspired by the message of Pope Francis, who calls on humanity to build more bridges of communication rather than walls that separate people and hinder collaboration.
He also expressed his appreciation to UIN Sunan Kalijaga for consistently accommodating the students for their Friday prayers on campus.
Dr. Jeihan Ali Azhar, S.Si., M.E.I, a lecturer from the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), Sharia Economics Program, and also a board member of UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s Religious Laboratory, delivered a talk on “The 10 Virtues of Ramadan.” The session was followed by an engaging Q&A discussion on how to live a good life in accordance with Islamic values.
After the presentation by Dr. Jeihan, a token of appreciation was presented by Father Adrianus Herry Wijayanto, SJ, from the Campus Ministry of Kolese De Britto High School. Following the Maghrib prayer, the event concluded with a full-course iftar meal.
May this collaboration between Kolese De Britto High School and UIN Sunan Kalijaga continue to grow, deepen, and expand in the future.
